Job Description:
Eaton is seeking a Principal Engineer- Power Distribution to
join our Aerospace Fluid and Electrical Distribution Division! This
hybrid role may be located within 50 miles of any Eaton Aerospace
location. Up to 25% travel is required.
Position Overview:
As a Principal Engineer in a global role, you will apply your
technical expertise to advance new product lines including power
distribution, converters, inverters, and electric propulsion. You
will collaborate with Senior leaders to drive Eaton Aerospace
electrification strategy, with a goal to expand our footprint in
electric aircraft and personal air taxis (EVTOL, ECTOL). You will
lead innovation activities and be involved in cradle to grave
development projects on embedded controls product lifecycle.
As an Aerospace industry expert, you will work to enhance power
conversion and distribution and its components (Digital and Analog
Electronics; switch mode high power, high voltage, highly
efficient, high power density DC-AC inverters, DC/DC, AC/DC
converters). You will use Aerospace Industry standards DO-254/160
and ARP4754A to ensure quality and compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:
Support Eaton Aerospace organic growth objectives of revenue growth
year over year
Innovation and Ideation to fill the growth funnel with potential
growth opportunities
Accountability for the integrity of design solutions on multiple
large and small programs
Identify issues and generate design solutions for product
development challenges with power conversion, inversion and
distribution
Collaborate with customers and anticipate the future based on a
deep understanding and familiarity of current technology trends and
directions
Key interface to relevant professional organizations, standards
bodies and university collaborations related to Electronics
Proactively represent and promote Eaton by taking an active role in
external forums and drives for recognition as a thought leader
Drive the use of tools such as DFMEA, DFT and DFM to ensure
development of robust specifications, guidelines, model and drawing
detailing, validation plans that produce reliable and sound
solutions
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other STEM related discipline
(e.g Physics, Computer Science, Electrical, etc.) from an
accredited institution is required
10 years of experience with new product development specializing in
electrical and electronic embedded components and systems
5 years of experience in Aerospace electronics or other field
requiring high integrity/reliability in harsh environments
Ability to travel internationally and domestically
This position requires use of information or access to hardware
which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations

Design for Six Sigma
Green of Black Belt Certification
Aerospace Industry standards DO-254/160 and ARP4754A
Master's or PhD degree in Engineering from an accredited
institution

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate
with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent
with internal and external market practices. Since this role can be
based in any US location, Eaton recognizes compensation
requirements may be higher or lower in some geographies and will
adjust the range accordingly. The annual salary range for this role
is $130,400-179,300. Eligible for a performance-based incentive
bonus with a target at 21% of base.
