Junior High Social Studies Teacher POSITION LOCATION: Ahlf Junior

Principal and/or other Supervisor ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for
maintaining order among the students for whom he or she is
responsible. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior,
social development, and physical health. Prepare materials and
classrooms for class activities. Adapt teaching methods and
instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and
interests. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and
projects, and communicate those objectives to students. Prepare,
administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate
students' progress. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss
their children's progress. Maintain accurate and complete student
records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative
regulations. Meet with other professionals to discuss individual
students' needs and progress. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and
other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the
development, evaluation, and revision of school programs. Prepare
reports on students and activities as required by administration.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher
training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional
competence. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as
required. COACHING Reports To: Head Girls Basketball and Athletic
Director ESSENTIAL OR REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Demonstrate proper
sportsmanship and respect for players, officials, opponents, fans,
and other coaches. Maintain good public relations with media,
boosters, parents, officials, players, fans, etc. Establish and
maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents,
staff, and school administration. Serve as a positive role model
for students, coaching staff, and the community. Demonstrate
knowledge of and ability to implement effective coaching theory,
strategies, and techniques appropriate for high school athletes.
Effectively motivate student athletes to participate and sustain
their interests in the program. Work effectively with student
athletes of varying abilities, socio-economic, and cultural
backgrounds to instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork.
Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to and keep abreast of rules
and regulations set forth by Arkansas Activities Association.
Assume responsibility for proper care of the school facilities.
Supervise all students under his or her care. Report injuries to
administration in a timely manner. Assist in building and
sustaining a successful program that is widely supported and
respected by the Searcy Public School District and community at
large. Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic
Director. RESPONSIBILITIES: To be an effective educator in the
classroom and on the field. To assist in maintaining high academic
standards for all students. To direct the athletic program in all
phases at a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm. To work
cooperatively with other athletic coaches in order to operate a
well-balanced athletic program. To foster among the participants
and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, a desire
to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in
