2025 SUMMARY Maintain water pump stations; system lift stations,
water plant and sewer plants, and work on a variety of different
controls requiring varied experience. This hands-on role requires
physical stamina and may involve using specialized tools,
fabricating parts, and keeping detailed records. Requires a valid
Arkansas drivers’ license and clean driving record with proof of
liability insurance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include
the following. Other duties may be assigned. Be able to read and
use a variety of electrical meters and other instruments used in
trouble shooting panels and electric motors. Ability to read
electrical schematics. Responsible for the safe efficient operation
and maintenance of POA vehicles and tools. Maintains and operates
pump houses, lift stations, water and wastewater plants, altitude
valves, chemical feed systems, SCADA, VFD’s, 4-20 signals and
alarming systems. Work in varied weather conditions, from ladders
and in confined spaces. Reports problems to Supervisor in a timely
manner. Ability to communicate and work with the public and staff
in a polite manner. Assists staff and other departments as
directed. Basic ability to locate streets, addresses, and water and
sewer lines on maps. Responsible for responding to customer
requests and complaints and completing work orders accurately and
efficiently. Responsible for operating in accordance with Local,
State, Federal Regulations, and Public Utilities Policies and
Procedures. May be required to work periodically for other
divisions as directed. Follow all Property Owners' Association
(POA) policies and safety rules. Regular attendance is required and
required to be on time to work. Required to be available for
standby duty and work after hours and weekends. Other duties as
assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty

independent judgment levels to perform assignments. Must be at
least 18 years of age. Must be reachable and be available for

Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or general
education degree (GED). Training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience with Water and Wastewater controls.
Electrical experience preferred. Licensed Journeyman a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
Ability to read and understand wire diagrams and instrument
diagrams and instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small
group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers
and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform
these operations using units of American money and weight
measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY to apply
common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Requires a valid Arkansas
driver's license, and clean driving record with proof of liability
insurance. PREFERRED Journeyman Electrical License. PHYSICAL
