Provides technical support for production of rocket motors, warheads, and all-up-round hydra-70 rockets. - Works with government, suppliers, and internal customers to resolve production issues. - Assists Integrated Program Team lead engineer in determining technical approach, applies creativity and advanced concepts in developing solutions. -
Major Position Responsibilities


  • Responsible for supporting technical team resolving production concerns with solutions that satisfy requirements and constraints, configuration item design, verification of the solution using modeling, simulation, analysis and test, documentation through formal reports, drawings and other technical data package items, and communication with the project team, business development, suppliers, industry partners, academia, customers, and functional management.
  • Assignments may include both engineering development and production support roles, which will require a broad knowledge of the technical specialty and well as detailed product knowledge in order to safely and efficiently support formal problem root cause analysis, corrective action planning and execution, developing labor and materials budgets, and identifying facility/test equipment needs.
  • Work will be performed with supervision of a lead engineer or functional management and guided by policies and procedures. Clear and concise presentation of technical data at meetings and reviews to peers, management and customers will be required.
  • Must have technical expertise in the discipline, proficient in technical writing (reports, presentations and work instructions), failure analysis, root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, ability to read and interpret product definition (drawings, specifications, etc.), ability to author test plans and reports, and familiarity with computer aided engineering tools.
  • Other duties may be assigned. -

    Basic Qualifications
    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering, technical, or science discipline

    Required Experience:
    Minimum two years of relevant experience as an engineer and may include internship/co-op, or master's degree in engineering. Prior experience with energetics (explosives/propellants) is desired.
