MOVE is the software sweet/platform used to access the eCrash
system. The purpose of the Uniform Traffic Electronic Crash
Reporting System (eCrash) is to report all the facts and
circumstances of the motor vehicle crash accurately, consistently
and thoroughly.
The candidate in this position ensures processing of all motor
vehicle crash reports completed by law enforcement officers,
conducts quality control on documents submitted and data entered or
downloaded into the eCrash system, and disseminates eCrash
data/records in compliance with state and federal laws and State
Police policy. The candidate is responsible for aiding local law
enforcement personnel on complex issues relating to traffic crash
reporting, classification, and eCrash training sessions. The
candidate will work closely with computer consultants supporting
eCrash in assisting with testing various changes or enhancements to
the system before being placed into production.
The chosen candidate will update workflow procedures as needed;
coordinates and monitors eCrash units workflow and operations
performance to ensure compliance with State law and State Police
policies and procedures; provides technical assistance to unit
personnel. Reviews daily and quarterly quality control reports to
ensure accuracy of eCrash data; makes corrections as needed.
The candidate may assist with being the liaison between the State
Police and non-State Police law enforcement personnel as well as
crash records software vendors regarding questions/inquiries on
proper classification of motor vehicle crashes, completion of the
Arkansas Motor Vehicle Crash Report, quality control of crash
reports, and review /approval of proposed computer generated
(electronic) crash records and eCrash edit checks and validation
rules.
The candidate may assist with being the liaison between Highway
Safety Office eCrash Section, State Police Regulatory Division
(crash records unit), and the Department of Public Safety
Information Technology Division to assist with computer consultants
and IT personnel supporting the eCrash system updates and
troubleshooting; test new enhancements/revisions to eCrash; and
prepare and submit requests to ARDOT for access to eCrash. Assists
in preparing training documents and conducting eCrash training.
The chosen candidate will need to be knowledgeable of Windows based
systems and troubleshooting.
The position will report to managing supervisor within the Highway
Safety Office and work in Crash Records Unit of the Highway Safety
Office which is furnished with all the necessary tools and
equipment needed to perform the required tasks. The candidate will
be expected to perform with the highest degree of professional
competence, as it relates to quality of work, product knowledge,
and customer service.
