Job Description Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description As a General Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for preventive and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment within a glass manufacturing plant. This role involves performing greasing, preventative maintenance on bearings, conveyors, and rollers, as well as electrical troubleshooting and repairs when applicable. You will participate in an extensive 8,000-hour company-funded Department of Labor Maintenance Mechanic apprenticeship program, equipping you with certifications in schematics, lubrication, building services, welding, cutting, piping, mechanical power transmission, rigging, electrical equipment systems, and welding. Responsibilities Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment. Perform greasing and preventative maintenance on bearings, conveyors, and rollers. Engage in electrical troubleshooting and repair tasks. Participate in the breakdown and teardown of production lines during plant modifications. Interact with outside contractors as necessary. Essential Skills Mechanical inclination and troubleshooting skills. Experience in mechanical repair and maintenance. Familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs. Ability to read schematics and perform welding and cutting. Knowledge of hydraulics, electro-mechanical systems, and pneumatics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior industrial maintenance experience is preferred. Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude. Experience in repairs with motors, engines, hydraulic systems, and conveyors. Ability to read a tape measure and pass two mechanical tests (SAM B-MAR). Why Work Here? Work Environment Work within a glass manufacturing environment characterized by extreme heat, dirt, dust, and noise. Safety is a priority, with a regulated respirator program in place for areas with respiratory exposure risks. The maintenance team comprises around 58 individuals, promoting a stable and calm team culture. Expect a rotating 12-hour schedule with day and night shifts, involving both day and night work (7:00 am to 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 7:00 am). Employees receive a night shift differential pay and are provided with all necessary personal protective equipment, including metatarsal leather boots and eyewear. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Carlisle, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $61256.00 - $72571.00/yr.
