Job Details Company Overview The Assistant Director of UAMS e-Link directly supervises the telemedicine support team and is responsible for supporting and monitoring the UAMS e-Link Network. S/He works as a liaison for all areas within UAMS, Arkansas Department of Health and partnering institutions state and nationwide to ensure maximum video conferencing availability of UAMS e-Link services for telemedicine and distance education. This position requires some in/out of state travel (5-10%). Responsibilities - Responsible for project planning for connecting new sites to the UAMS e-Link network and upgrades - detailed plan of activities including timeline of deliverables and resources (people and funding) required. - Responsible for department budget requests - includes operating fund requests, capital budget requests, additional staffing requests. Project status reporting to steering committees and management. - Works with vendors and companies to aid in the design and testing of conference rooms and equipment needed for UAMS and partners. - Develops and implements work plans for the following: - UAMS e-Link to meet campus service level agreements. - Video conference equipment required for connectivity of video to UAMS e-Link network as well as specific video conferencing units, as needed to assist support and growth of the UAMS e-Link network. - Enable the telemedicine support team to meet campus service level agreements. - Video conference equipment required for connectivity to UAMS e-Link network as well as specific video conferencing units, as needed to assist support the growth of the UAMS e-Link network. - Manages assessment of users' system requirements taking into consideration existing UAMS computing environment; assessment should include video conferencing network connectivity as well as video conferencing equipment. - Designs work plans that enable the telemedicine support team to meet campus service level agreements; that keep video conferencing equipment and software up-to-date; and for video conference equipment required for connectivity to UAMS e-Link network as well as specific video conferencing units, as needed to assist support the growth of the UAMS e-Link network. - Designs applications capabilities and configuration options to meet customer's needs; Where application configuration to meet customer request is not possible, request for quote with application vendor regarding costs associated with requested custom configuration. - Designs work plans to ensure proper scheduling of video equipment and coordination of other responsible departments. - Assesses and develops software tools that enable all areas to provide quicker more reliable services to UAMS e-Link customers; emerging technologies that enhance the UAMS e-Link environment; and emerging management needs. - Recommends technology standards appropriate for the UAMS e-Link environment and selects appropriate video conferencing technologies, standards, and systems for UAMS e-Link. - Coordinates with other areas in support of new video conferencing system implementations and upgrades and assesses software tools that enable all areas to provide quicker more reliable services to UAMS e-Link. - May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree - Five (5) years of network and/or video experience - Willingness and ability for in/out state travel The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree and over three (3) years of network experience This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
