Job Description:

SAFETY SENSITIVE : This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre- employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening. Responsible for coordinating and directing activities of the Center according to accepted standards. Responsible for the fiscal activities of the center. Responsible for management of all aspects of personnel, education of personnel, and administrative duties. Works collaboratively with Charge Nurses (as required) to oversee the supervision and direction of nursing care and patient scheduling, according to the centers policies, procedures, and objectives. Works closely with the Governing Board and center staff in coordinating patient and staff service functions. Also this position will require minimal local travel as part of their duties. Monitors FTE utilization and makes recommendations to promote cost-effective man-hour practices. Reviews daily time and attendance sheets and maintains attendance logs. This duty is performed daily. Oversees the comprehensive and informative orientation programs for new employees and continuing education in all clinical areas. This duty is performed as needed. Directs and participates in Center committees, meetings, in-services, and activities. This duty is performed as needed. Remains current on applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and professional and accrediting-body standards. This duty is performed daily. Oversees medical staff/allied health credentialing program and Peer Review program. This duty is performed as needed. Ensures center is clean and facility is maintained per policy, accreditation, and regulatory compliance. This duty is performed daily. Interprets, and implements policies, procedures, regulations, programs and recommended practices to meet requirements of regulatory and accrediting organizations. This duty is performed as needed. Implementation and maintenance of the center's adopted quality assessment, performance improvement program and reports to Medical Director and Board. This duty is performed quarterly. Implements best practices and regulations adopted, to provide safety in the workplace to meet regulations. Reports submitted per regulations. This duty is performed daily. Identifies need for new/different items, in regard to trends and center needs, within budget allowances, to promote cost effectiveness, and minimize waste. This duty is performed daily. Analyzes and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements within the center. This duty is performed daily. Ensures adequate inventory and manages new product/equipment implementation. This duty is performed daily. Monitors and verifies required materials management documentation (i.e., purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts etc.) are current and complete. This duty is performed daily. Monitors and analyzes monthly operating reports (MOR). This duty is performed quarterly. Assists in the development and implementation of capital and operating budgets. This duty is performed annually. Conducts and analyzes cost benefit analysis to identify potential cost-effective improvements and make recommendations. This duty is performed daily. Reviews and approves payroll submissions. This duty is performed weekly. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 4 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS RN with OR and Management experience PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS BSN SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED Basic: 10-Key, Database, Payroll Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY SUPERVISION RECEIVED Under general direction, working from policies and general directives. Rarely refers specific cases to supervisor unless clarification or interpretation of the organization's policy is required. PLANNING Considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work, in addition, the organization and delegation of work operations for a group of employees engaged in widely diversified activities. DECISION MAKING Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and also frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance, either of which would affect the work operations of small organizational component and the organization's clientele. MENTAL DEMAND Intense mental demand. Operations requiring sustained directed thinking to analyze, solve, or plan highly variable, administrative, professional, or technical tasks involving complex problems or mechanisms. ANALYTICAL ABILITY / PROBLEM SOLVING Oversight. Activities covered by expansive policies and objectives, and oversight as to execution and review. High order of analytical, interpretative, and constructive thinking in varied situations covering multiple areas of the organization. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervises a moderate size group (25-30) of employees engaged in important, complex operations, consisting of employees in different classifications who perform a wide variety of duties. RESPONSIBILITY FOR FUNDS, PROPERTY and EQUIPMENT Regularly responsible for funds, building premises, inventory, or other property owned, controlled, or leased by the organization and, in addition, may have temporary custody and responsibility of patron property, which through carelessness, error, loss, theft, misappropriation, or similar action would result in very important monetary losses to the organization. ACCURACY Probable errors would normally not be detected in succeeding operations and may have serious effects in relationships with patrons and/or with the operations of other segments of the organization.
