Responsibilities Main focus areas are as follows: Manage the Engineering and R&M activities by objectives (A3, capital budget) & meet or exceed department objectives (KPIs): Delivers plant maintenance program. Manage the Engineering activities in preparing plans, cost estimates and specifications to determine most feasible approach to technical problems. Ensure compliance with national, regional, and local insurance ordinances, regulations, and codes to secure safe and stable operation of equipment. Based on KPIs ensures that efficiency and performance are met or exceeded with a conscious control of reliability and cost. Maintain & prioritize the Five Year Capital Budget & deliver the department budgets agreed upon with the Operations Manager at beginning of the year. Provides engineering and cost advice about facilities and equipment related to the short- and long-term needs of the business. Manage the Engineering activities in preparing plans, cost estimates and specifications to determine most feasible approach to technical problems. Take care of an open and effective communication and create a process-oriented environment of sharing best practices and continuous improvement, which is the Almatis style of (Lean) Management. Deploy relevant decisions to all levels of the organization. Be a role model in exhibiting the company values, especially demonstrate trust and respect by listening to and involving, enabling and empowering people. Go to "gemba" and support and coach people, establish and maintain team work, resulting in highly motivated people, engaged in effective and efficient performing teams Ensure the creation of reports related to the department in accordance with regulations and directives, organization-specific accountability internal and externally in order to compare results with plans (and inform the superior), as basis for corrective actions. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) preferable in Mechanical Engineering potential in Electrical, Chemical, or Ceramic Engineering or a related field in an industrial environment, from four-year College or University. Advanced degree in this or related field is highly desirable. 6 - 8 Years of applicable experience in production, engineering and/or maintenance preferably in midsized manufacturing companies in similar industries with international footprint. Exposure to: project engineering, plant maintenance, construction, MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards, budgeting and scheduling, supervision, process equipment related to thermal, size reduction, conveying and packaging. Proven track record and a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading production process at plant level. Knowledge and Skills: Extensive relevant experience in a production plant. Must have the ability to recognize and anticipate complex problems and solve them with the overall process in mind. Must exhibit strong analytical and reasoning skills. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Good knowledge of the use of statistical tools, preferable 6 Sigma experience, (greenbelt or black belt), experienced with the Toyota Production System Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
