Job Description:

DescriptionPriority Wire & Cable the leading supplier of wire and cable in the U.S. and Canada is seeking a VP of IT to be based at our Little Rock, AR headquarters. A candidate should have proven past experience managing a multi-site (19--Warehouses and or Sales Offices) network infrastructure, ERP system, cyber-security and security systems as well as recent experience managing IT personnel. Additionally, the candidate must have experience analyzing IT infrastructure, system performance, budgeting and tracking operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements and other metrics to ensure that we are meeting and exceeding our Customers (both internal and external) needs. Past experience managing these responsibilities in a Distribution environment a plus. The role will include some hands-on work as needs require. In summary, keep everything running and also help us identify opportunities for improvements in systems and processes such as automation and paperwork flow with a strategic mindset.
VP of IT Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensure day-to-day system (PC Network, Warehouse systems, ERP, Website and Portal) stability
  • Leads team of IT staff
  • Designs and implements IT strategies and infrastructure
  • Grows the use of EDI with Customers
  • Identifies and eliminates security risks
  • Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems
  • Works to increase user satisfaction
  • Evaluates IT operations with regard to established goals
  • Communicates within IT team and across departments as needed
  • Assesses need for new equipment and software
  • Prepares progress and budget reports for management
  • Hires new members of IT staff
  • Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors
  • Manages company help desk
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


    VP of IT Qualifications/Skills:

    • Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
    • Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Team oriented


      Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field (graduate degree a plus)
      • Minimum eight years' experience working in IT operations
      • Minimum three years' experience overseeing IT teams and projects
      • MS Certifications and continuing education a plus


        Physical Requirements:

        • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
