To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care. Primary role is the delivery of competent clinically appropriate placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) Lines and/or Midlines as ordered. Certification for PICC line insertion is offered through the hospital. Requires demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology of central line placement/peripheral vascular, aseptic technique, ability to confirm line placement via chest x-ray successful placement of PICC three or more times under direct supervision of a Certified PICC nurse, knowledge maintenance and care of catheters. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of Life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding patient status.QualificationsGraduate of accredited school of nursing; Current RN licensure in ArkansasTwo years professional experience in inpatient acute care or outpatient infusion therapy.
