  • Employee Referral ProgramJOB SUMMARY:The Registered Dietitian is responsible to utilize clinical nutrition experiences, along with patient education and relationship development to support patients receiving specialized complex enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies. DUTIES & RESPSONSIBILITIES:
    • Assist in the qualification and documentation of medical necessity for all payors for enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies to secure reimbursement for home enteral and parenteral nutrition.
    • Evaluate enteral and parenteral feeding prescription including formula type, amount, administration, and other parameters based on specific patient needs.
    • Inform the enteral and parenteral process by managing eligibility, authorization, changes in orders, negotiated rates, financial obligation documents and all necessary payor information for all services rendered by the company.
    • Manage and ensure intake processes, both acute and chronic, are compliant with ACHC and government regulations.
    • Coordinate clinical plans of care with the enteral and parenteral nutrition teams. Communicates appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data in the clinical record.
    • Records subjective and objective information, assessment, and treatment plan, in the clinical notes including a discharge summary.
    • Educate internal staff on appropriate nutrition therapy, nutrition policies and procedures and reimbursement related topics.
    • May lead and facilitate nutrition support team meetings and patient care conferences and contribute appropriate clinical information. Provide patient and caregiver instruction related to nutrition therapy and oral diet at home, as ordered by the physician.
    • Collaborate with Sales to identify potential growth opportunities for home enteral and parenteral nutrition.
    • Collaborate with Sales on referrals, marketing reporting and various reimbursement and collections reports.
    • Maintains knowledge of current trends and research/developments in the field by reading journal, books, and other literature and attending related conferences.
    • Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
    • Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
    • Provide patients with timely and accurate information and take appropriate actions regarding our services to ensure complete satisfaction. PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
      • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or equivalent required.
      • Registered Dietitian with current license in state of operation.
      • Current registration by the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
      • Advanced certification in nutrition support (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) on hire or completed within first year of employment.
      • Minimum 2 years' experience with tube feeding and parenteral nutrition management required.
