Responsible for triaging patient problems, which includes phone calls to discuss pre & post op education, review lab work, and diagnostic tests with patients. This person also performs necessary tests to assist the provider with diagnosis and treatment of their condition.HOURSMonday-Friday 7:30AM-4:30PMESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTriaging patient phone calls.Covering nurse messages when nurses are in clinic or out of the office.Provide patient education.Utilizing critical thinking skills to distinguish between emergent and non-emergent care.Manage prescription refills.Maintain Patients confidentiality at all time.Communicate with Physicians/Nurse/Staff as needed.Practice teamwork, service and respect for coworkers and patients.Accurately document in EMR symptoms and/or complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response.Complete prior authorizations, FMLA/disability paperwork, and cardiac clearancesSchedule appointments and diagnostic testing as neededReview and treat labs over the phone as neededPerform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Must posses an active and unrestricted Registered Nurse License. Prefer minimum of one (1) year of cliical experience in physician office, home health, critical care or emergency. Familiarity/experience with patient interaction on the telephone is a plus. Previous Triage experience highly preferred.Knowledge:Knowledge of basic computer skillsKnowledge of medical terminologyKnowledge proper patient careKnowledge of OSHA/HIPAA regulationsSkills:Strong communication skillsSkill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data.Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.Abilities:Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to file materials correctly when dealing with daily charts.Ability to be a team player.Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with patients, employees, and the public.PI202078757
