Work Shift:Please see job description for details.Time Type:Full timeDepartment:CC033050 Pediatric Clinical Research UnitSummary:Develops, oversees, and ensures strategic growth of a large, multidisciplinary clinical research organization which includes operational clinical research services (feasibility, study start-up, budget development and negotiation, regulatory, clinical research coordination, research nursing support, invoicing and close-out) and the growth and maintenance of the clinical research infrastructure (including Clinical Trial Management System implementation and maintenance) for the organization. The Director is responsible for developing and overseeing organizational strategy and goals, providing strategic leadership, building and modeling a high-performance culture with strong engagement within sub-departments. Leads a multidisciplinary clinical research organization, partnering closely with both internal and external investigators and institutional leaders.2. Oversees sub-departments including but not limited to: clinical research coordination and services, regulatory affairs, budget development and negotiation, research nursing and clinical research management tools/systems.3. Utilizes knowledge of federal regulations and the legal and regulatory environment governing academic and/or clinical research administration to guide the execution of high quality, safe, efficient and effective clinical research, with a strong focus on customer service, regulatory compliance, transparency and commitment to programmatic excellence and ongoing evaluation.4. Responsible for attracting sponsors and connecting them with potential researchers, promoting the Clinical Research Operations Services to the community of industry sponsors, and assist researchers in securing funding sources.5. Engages and collaborates with leaders across the organization, campus and partnering organizations to advance and improve clinical research operations.6. Develops a high-performing management team and oversees recruitment, training, management and evaluation of all personnel, with a focus on building a high-performing, transparent and inclusive culture with strong employee engagement.7. Works in partnership with other departments and divisions to oversee hospital-wide research feasibility and start-up process, ensuring that research conducted at the institution meets regulatory, financial and legal requirements.8.
