ID: 55286587 Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (06:30 - 15:00) Description: Call Required5 x 8 hour shifts / weekSUMMARY: This position is filled by a Surgical Technologist who, as a result of on the job training and clinical experience in surgical technology, possesses the knowledge and technical skills necessary to assist in operations, under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. May help set up operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeon's assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.Responsible and accountable for direct patient care for assigned patients in the perioperative unit. Must be proficient in a wide variety of high level surgical technologist skills. Responsible for adhering to all standards of perioperative care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the hospital.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: Completion of Baxter Health s surgical technologist training program and/or 2 years experience as a cv or surgical technologist.Certifications: BLS Required Safety Sensitive Designation: This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases.
