Job Description Job Title: Hospital Pharmacist – Contract Location: San Antonio, Texas Job Type: Contract Shift: 7:00 AM– 7:00 PM (7 on / 7 off rotation) Guaranteed Hours: Yes Job Description We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy operations in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role involves medication order verification, clinical review, and supervision of pharmacy support staff while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards. Unit Overview Licensed Beds: 245 Pharmacy Staff: 38 total Night Shift Coverage: 1 Central Pharmacist 1 Pharmacy Technician EMR System: Meditech Equipment: Standard pharmacy systems Key Responsibilities Medication order verification and entry Perform final dispensing checks and complete required documentation Supervise technical support personnel in medication preparation and distribution Review and monitor override and compliance reports Perform clinical dosing adjustments, including vancomycin and renal dosing Ensure adherence to pharmacy policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Required Qualifications Active Texas Pharmacist License (Texas State Board of Pharmacy) Minimum 2 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience Proof of completion of a 20-hour ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course (University or college attestation accepted) Preferred Qualifications Experience with Meditech EMR Decentralized pharmacy experience Clinical dosing experience (vancomycin and renal adjustments) Schedule & Coverage 7 on / 7 off rotation Rotating weekends (every other weekend) No on-call requirement Floating within pharmacy scope as needed Apply Now!
