Facility Information Facility: GSS ND Park River Location: Park River, ND Address: 301 Co Rd 12B, Park River, ND 58270, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Night Shifts Job Schedule: Full-time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $21.00 - $25.50 Job Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in long-term care. This role involves delivering resident-focused nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include: Assisting with essential health care tasks such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing. Obtaining and recording vital signs. Offering psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and walking, using appropriate techniques and equipment. Providing range of motion and passive exercises. Contributing to food preparation and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents. Assisting residents with meals and snacks, and providing water and nutritional supplements as needed. The NA also supports nursing staff with procedures as required, documents resident interactions and care outcomes, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Additional duties include: Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Maintaining cleanliness in living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. Assisting with wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation. Participating in departmental or organizational committees and task forces as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Previous experience as a clinical or nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing, or be state-certified within four months of starting the position by enrolling in a training program or obtaining certification through endorsement. CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility. Must successfully complete annual department-specific competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. Must maintain all required department-specific certifications. If applicable, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry in relevant states. Depending on facility requirements, this position may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license. Must also meet medical qualifications for driving as per the organization's driving policy.
