Job Description:
General Description of Position: The HR Director is responsible
for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the
human resource function to include managing human resource policies
and programs for OrthoArkansas, PA employing a staff of 375+. The
major areas of involvement are in organizational planning,
employment, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits,
safety and health, and employee services. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Annually reviews and makes recommendations to
executive management for improvement of organization's policies,
procedures and practices on personnel matters. Maintains knowledge
of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures
organization's compliance. Performs benefits management for health,
dental, vision, 401k, and section 125 plan and provides education
regarding benefit programs to assist in maximizing participation.
Assists and directs payroll administration, quarterly and annual
payroll reporting, payroll audits, and retirement plan audits.
Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to
establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a
high level of employee morale. Identifies legal requirements and
government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function
(e.g. EEO, ERISA, OSHA, Wage & Hour). Monitors exposure to the
company. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed
by the CEO, on personnel matters. Works directly with department
managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on
personnel matters. Protects interests of employees and shareholders
of the company in accordance with company HR policies and
governmental laws and regulations. Approves recommendations for
terminations. Reviews employee appeals through complaint procedure.
Evaluates liability associated with employment actions. Establishes
standard recruiting and placement practices and procedures. Works
with management throughout organization to determine staffing
needs, and facilitates recruiting, screening, and placement of new
employees, as well as conducts exit interviews to determine reason
behind separations. Assists executive management in the annual
review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage
and salary program. Coordinates use of consultants, insurance
brokers, insurance carriers, pension administrators, training
specialists, labor counsel, and other outside sources relevant to
the HR function. Conducts a continuing study of all HR policies,
programs, and practices to keep top management informed of new
developments. Perform any other related duties as required or
assigned. Education and Experience: 4-year degree, plus 7 years
related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management
experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Certification in Human Resources required. Software
Skills Required Advanced: HR Systems, Payroll Systems Intermediate:
Spreadsheet Basic: 10-key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry,
Contact Management, Presentation/PowerPoint, Word Processing/Typing
