Applications accepted online ONLY: https://arcareers.arkansas.gov/JOB TITLE: INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER (CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER)POSITION #: 22092249LOCATION: 1100 North Street, Little Rock, ARGRADE: IT08MINIMUM SALARY: $71,704CLOSING DATE: 11/19/2021Summary:The Chief Information Officer for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism (ADPHT) is tasked with developing, planning, and implementing the information technology (IT) strategy for the Department. The CIO oversees the team responsible for managing the Department's IT needs including the network and computer systems, databases and other information systems, and security. A successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of current and emerging trends in the IT field as well as an ability to leverage the implementation of new or existing technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department.Duties/Responsibilities: - Collaborates with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist in achieving Department goals. Key partner in facilitating determination of IT needs or requirements and leads in identifying and executing on solutions. - Leads all operational aspects of the IT team including assigning roles and responsibilities, coordinating of projects, establishing priorities, and ensuring the timely and effective completion of these initiatives. - Ensures that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the ADPHT's computing, network, data processing, and communications needs. - Develops and implements the IT budget in collaboration with other Department sections and facilitates the completion of all mandatory state agency reporting requirements. - Communicates ADPHT and state-level goals, projects, and timelines to the IT team and plans ways to execute those goals across the Department. - Establishes long-term IT needs and develops strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs. - Ensures coordination compliance with the Division of Information Systems including all requirements for systems operations and network security. - Works with the state CIO committee in establishing state security and IT standards.Mandatory Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or related field. - At least 5 years of experience in administration of information systems and technology, with increasing level of responsibility throughout. - Thorough understanding of information technology and information technology systems. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent managerial skills. - Ability to establish long-term goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals. - A highly analytical mindset with superb problem-solving skills. - In-depth knowledge of data administration and management processes. - Strong understanding of modern databases and information system technologies.Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 10 years of experience, or more, in information systems and technology with increasing levels of responsibility. - Experience managing IT systems within a government agency on the state or federal level.Special Requirements: - Occasional work outside normal business hours. - Occasional in-state travel. - Pre-employment criminal background check - Valid Arkansas Driver's LicenseApplications accepted online ONLY: https://arcareers.arkansas.gov/Job Type: Full-timePay: $71,704.00 - $103,970.00 per yearBenefits:
