The President of the Specialty Crop Business will develop and
execute a wholesale and retail marketing strategy focused on
increasing margins and distribution across the central and eastern
US. The President will draw from their experience with product
positioning, branding, and new market entry to develop a
comprehensive strategic plan to enhance customer relationships,
develop strategic partnerships, and optimize production quality and
throughput, while driving cost reduction. They will provide
leadership for sales, marketing, production, quality, logistics,

Strategic leadership :
Lead the development of short and long-term strategic plans for
the specialty crop business in collaboration with the Chief
Executive Officer. Develop wholesale and retail marketing program
using knowledge of price fluctuation, demand, supply, fruit
quality, and consumer interest.
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning and
introduction of new programs/strategies to ensure that plans and
budgets are executed successfully.
Work with the production team to coordinate activities to
maximize investment, drive cost savings, and increase efficiency
Operational Review :
Review current operations through site visits and meetings with
operations team to assess effectiveness of production, inventory
management, logistics, customer service, and sales/marketing
Work with leadership to identify opportunities to improve
product costs and production efficiencies.
Introduce systems, procedures, and performance-based metrics to
ensure company goals are met.
Work alongside the CFO to improve the budgeting process on a
continual basis through education of department managers on
financial issues impacting their budgets.
Institute market leading best practices to maximize quality and
ensure operations are compliant with regulatory requirements.
Personnel Management :
Oversee marketing and production in accordance with the
direction established in the strategic plan.
Ensuring effective labor utilization with greater efficiency and
focus on profitability.
Develop high performance culture by selecting, interviewing, and

Qualifications and Experience:
10+ years of experience in creating and executing strategies in
a team environment and leading a sales team, marketing, logistics,
and administering contracts within the produce industry with a
proven track record of success.
Knowledge of selling and marketing fresh produce and/or
value-added produce products and extensive relationships with
customers and producers
Proven experience with product positioning, branding and market
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
