Responsibilities Dedicated Finance leader supporting clinical and operational excellence within the Division. Aligned to Divisions/MBOs and/or service lines to drive operational performance and strategic initiatives. Serve as thought-leaders in using financial techniques to support, coach and enable divisional executives and operational leaders to deliver outstanding performance. Act as strategic link between CHI’s short/long term goals and tactics executed by operational leaders to achieve goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Collaborates with local operations team in business units (e.g. Divisions, MBOs and/or service lines) to formulate, refine, and operationalize initiative and tactics to ensure operational and financial success

? Leads the capital planning process to develop proformas and business plans around potential new growth opportunities

? Owns the relationships with Corporate and outside groups related to the Medicare Cost Report and taxation

? Works to develop efficiencies through the use of data, including automation of reports, creation of both financial and operational dashboards, etc.

? Work in tandem with the Finance team to assist with month-end accounting duties and other projects as needed

? Assists with the development of hospital budgets

? Coaches front line business unit managers on operational finance principles

? Collaborates with business unit operational leaders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and develop action plans for meeting targets

? Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or CPA strongly preferred.

Experience: Eight (8) plus years in business/finance position preferably in healthcare.

Physical Requirements: Performs tasks that require eye/hand coordination. Must be able to hear normal sounds with some background noises. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time (up to four hours).

Skills: Strong leader. Ability to work across diverse areas. Good communicator (oral and written), relationship builder, problem solver and collaborative integrator. Strong financial knowledge in accounting with an understanding of operations and major business drivers of financial performance. Strong ability to collaborate with operational teams. Strong analytic capabilities to analyze data and extract insights, and formulate actionable plans. Ability to think strategically and engage with senior leadership. Ability to plan, organize, and develop meeting agendas; assign accountability and follow-up tasks. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects within tight time frames. Ability to meet pre-scheduled deadlines. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

PRIMARY CUSTOMERS: MBO and Division Senior Leaders; Hospital Department Directors

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Direct report to Market VP of Finance
