Responsibilities

In accordance with the mission and core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence of St. Vincent Health System along with the National Scope and Standards for Diabetes Education, this position is established to serve as a consultant/resource professional in the specialized practice of diabetes education.  Teamwork is a vital component of patient care and it will be expected that the diabetes nurse specialist will demonstrate commitment to teamwork through effective collaborative efforts.


Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with current Arkansas licensure. 

Certification from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is required.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification is required.

A minimum of five years of progressive experience registered nurse and a minimum of two years experience in caring for patients with chronic disease processes preferred.
