Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Cloud Network Design
Engineer, located in Raritan, NJ. Remote work options in the US
will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by
the Company. Johnson & Johnson's Global Network Architecture,
Automation, and Engineering team is looking for a Cloud Network
Design Engineer to lead the design and engineering of J&J's
next-generation cloud and datacenter infrastructure. You will work
globally across multiple cloud service providers as well as
on-premise and Colo based datacenters while also supporting the
core enterprise network. The Network Design Engineering team
designs and develops pragmatic, reliable and scalable networking
solutions through a combination of extensive network engineering
experience, deep product knowledge, and collaboration with key
business partners. As a team, we have an expert understanding of
core networking fundamentals required to establish network
connectivity for users (e.g. ARP, DHCP, DNS, IPv6 ND, and wireless
connectivity) and network infrastructure protocols (e.g. BGP,
EIGRP, OSPF, ECMP, QoS, IPSEC, GRE). We are looking for someone
with a passion for building new solutions and modernizing overall
network design with a focus on cloud delivered solutions. You will
partner with multiple infrastructure, automation, security, and
operations teams, ensuring successful and efficient deployment
solutions and creating corresponding documentation. The Cloud
Network Design Engineer will have extensive experience building
cloud networks for large enterprises using a multi cloud approach.
They will also have knowledge and understand the use and benefits
of automation, including REST APIs, Ansible, Python, and Itential.
The role will have broad proficiency in network virtualization,
cloud computing, SDN/NFV, NGFW, scripting and automation. We work
to transform sophisticated problems and abstract concepts into
executable technology solutions. As part of the Design Engineering
team, we are leaders with a vision for the future and new
technologies. We follow industry and technology trends and evaluate
current deployments with a focus on building next-gen solutions.
You will also frequently interact and present ideas and solutions
to senior networking leaders. Key Responsibilities: + Establish and
maintain regular communications with network architecture,
deployment, and operations teams to answer questions related to
network design, requirements, outcomes for networking projects +
Lead the design, deployment, and support of J&J's global cloud
network infrastructure across multiple cloud service providers to
meet business needs and growth + Lead the engineering of
next-generation network solutions including transformation of our
datacenters to modern architectures that will enable future
scalability + Own datacenter product portfolio and design standards
and deliver appropriate documentation, training, templates, use
cases, and acceptance testing. + Collaborate with teammates and
management on modern solutions for updating our network standards.
+ Provide supporting documentation and training to the regional
support teams and working with the Automation and Tools Engineering
team to assist in the development of scripts for automated
configuration deployment + Review and validate software for
vulnerability and release management plans for datacenter switching
devices. This includes documentation updates, code validation
testing, and communicating new versions of code to relevant teams
**Qualifications** Required: + Bachelors in Computer Science,
Software Engineering, or equivalent experience + 2 years of
demonstrated success designing, deploying and/or managing a highly
available production infrastructure on AWS and Azure or GCP. + 5
years of supporting and understanding a large enterprise network +
2 years of automation development with scripting experience in
Python, Terraform, Ansible, or Itential + Understand the various
network hardware and software manufacturers and their roles within
the industry, (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Juniper, VMWare, and F5). +
Knowledgeable on the product portfolios and supported
implementation requirements for AWS, Azure and GCP including proper
construct sizing, functional limits and cost efficiency. + Stay up
to date on enhancements and new features that the cloud service
providers add to their platforms and how these capabilities can be
leveraged and integrated into the cloud environment to our benefit.
+ Present designs to peer engineers and network leadership + Create
and publish network designs and standards documentation to be used
by our partners in support of deploying and maintaining these
networks in the production environment. + CCIE or equivalent
certification or experience + Good interpersonal skills and an
ability to clearly communicate ideas in business-friendly and
user-friendly terms + Highly self-motivated with a keen attention
to detail and outstanding customer service orientation + Proven
analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities + Ability to
effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure
environment Preferred: + AWS Advanced Networking certification +
AWS Solution Architect Certified Professional or equivalent AWS
certifications + Azure or GCP Associate or Professional level
certifications + In depth knowledge and expertise of the Cisco
Firepower product architecture and ecosystem (ASA, FTD, FMC, CDO) +
Experience operating in a multi-cloud environment and using tools
such as Terraform or Aviatrix + Expertise in designing, deploying
and supporting Cisco Nexus platforms in a critical, high
availability environment. Other: + 5% business travel is expected
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $97,000 to
$166,750. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company
