Job Description:
UFG is seeking a Sr. Risk Control -Consultant to conduct on-site
review of insured's premises and operations, evaluate
organizational, administrative, and technical issues to control
loss exposures, and identify and report hazards that create loss
exposures to property, workers compensation, auto, and general
liability coverages. This role will also reduce the loss exposure
through risk improvement recommendations, perform continuing
service on designated accounts, and conduct safety meetings and
presentations to insureds and agents. *The ideal candidate for this
role will reside in the state of Arkansas preferably in or around
the Little Rock area. Responsibilities: -
- Develop, implement, and obtain policy holder buy-in for risk
management solutions and best practices, that help improve our
policyholder's business operations that focuses in on driving
profit.
- Provide informational reports and updates to internal
departments to enable decision-making regarding work comp exposures
and general liability exposures.
- Provide internal departments with information regarding
identified hazards related to property, general liability,
commercial auto, and workers compensation.
- Provide meaningful recommendations for actual and potential
loss sources.
- Analyze the loss history of accounts to identify loss sources,
trends in accident frequency and severity, reach meaningful
conclusions from the analyses, and provide a clear summary of those
analyses to customers, agents, and underwriters. When applicable,
develop effective risk reduction recommendations and/or ongoing
risk management
objectives.
- Complete preliminary problem definitions through a loss
analysis on prospective and written accounts
- Complete timely and accurate reports that including description
of operations, exposure & control evaluations, line of coverage
grading, risk improvement evaluations, recommendations submission,
problem identification and provide consultative solutions.
- Develop effective and ongoing communication with internal
business partners and agents to ensure the conveyance of timely
information for new and renewal business opportunities as well as
consultative communication with customers.
- Collaborate and participate on corporate initiatives and
projects as needed to improve processes and procedures
- Manage workload in your assigned territory to include larger
accounts and more complex operations and exposures.
- Efficiently manage work scheduling to meet both internal and
external customer needs.
- Train/guide/present to internal and external customers in
techniques of loss exposure reduction through risk control
services, solutions, and deliverables via onsite training and or
virtual training.
- Serve as industry expert to internal partners to provide
guidance, consultation, and mentoring.
- Develop a consultative service approach to policyholders and
agents to include in-person safety trainings and
presentations.
- Actively participate in in-person safety training as needed.
Qualifications: Education
- A four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Degree in Occupational Safety or related field desired
Certifications/Designations:
- Completion of industry designation(s) or certificate(s) such as
CSP, ASP, CPCU, CFPS or ARM program preferred. Experience:
- 7+ years risk control insurance and or private industry
experience preferred.
- Prior P & C experience preferred. Working Conditions:
- The job may involve exposure to dirt, heat, cold, odors, noise,
wetness, humidity and/or other unpleasant conditions. Other health
and safety factors may include heights, mechanical, or electrical
hazards such as microwaves and industrial equipment.
- Travel by company car 3 days per week on average, up to 5 days
as needed (some travel by plane).
- Valid driver's license and clean MVR record required Knowledge,
skills, & abilities:
- Effective communication, consultation & negotiation -skills;
written and verbal.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from clients, customers, agents, and company.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work schedules.
- Technology savvy; familiar with MS Office Suite especially
Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Working knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health
Administration), General Industry and Construction Regulations,

Motor Carrier Safety Administration)
