JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for processing and sterilizing instruments and equipment. Practices excellent infection control standards while taking ownership with the Central Sterile Room. Assists with infection control audits, data tracking, and other processes as needed in the infection control department.

This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands, and mental competencies of this job require the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.

Requirements

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION:
1. High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required.
2. Associates's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
3. Sterile Processing Technician certification: Required.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
1. Basic knowledge of medical equipment, process, and infection control measures.
2. Experience with following detailed instructions and data entry.
3. Ability to organize and create efficient workflows to ensure timely processing of instruments.
4. Ability to work as a team with multiple departments.
5. Ability to obtain Central Sterile Certification
