broader platform operations, candidates with experience in platform
engineering or Internal Developer Platform (IDP) management will be
highly preferred. This role offers the opportunity to work in a
dynamic environment, collaborating with DevOps and development
teams to support mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities: Kubernetes Management: Deploy, configure, and
maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-prem or cloud-based) to support
production and staging environments.
Workload Deployment: Deploy and manage containerized applications,
ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance using
Kubernetes resources (e.g., Deployments, StatefulSets,
DaemonSets).
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize tools like Prometheus,
Grafana, or ELK stack to monitor cluster health, diagnose issues,
and resolve incidents promptly.
Security & Compliance: Implement Kubernetes security practices,
including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management, to
safeguard the environment.
Automation: Leverage Helm charts, Kustomize, or scripting (e.g.,
Bash, Python) to automate cluster operations and deployments.
Cluster Maintenance: Perform upgrades, patch management, and
capacity planning to ensure cluster reliability and efficiency.
Collaboration: Partner with developers to containerize applications
and provide Kubernetes expertise, while supporting broader team
goals in platform operations.
Documentation: Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation of
configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
Platform Operations: Contribute to or advise on platform-level
initiatives, such as CI/CD pipeline integration, service mesh
implementation, or developer self-service tools, based on prior
experience.
Skillset / Experience: Kubernetes Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on
experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production
environments.
Containerization: Proficiency with Docker or similar container
runtimes.
Cloud Experience: Familiarity with at least one major cloud
provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their managed Kubernetes services
(EKS, AKS, GKE).
Networking: Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking (e.g., CNI
plugins like Calico, Flannel, or Cilium) and troubleshooting
network issues.
Tooling: Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform,
Ansible) and version control (e.g., Git).
Problem-Solving: Strong debugging skills with tools like kubectl,
logs, and metrics dashboards.
Communication: Ability to work effectively with technical and
non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills (Bonus): Platform Operations Experience: Prior
work on Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), CI/CD systems (e.g.,
Jenkins, ArgoCD), or service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
Scripting Proficiency: Advanced skills in Python, Go, or Bash for
automation.
Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or
equivalent.
Broader DevOps Exposure: Familiarity with observability stacks,
cloud-native tools, or platform engineering principles.
Qualifications: 3+ years in system administration, DevOps, or cloud
engineering roles with a focus on Kubernetes.
Proven track record of managing production-grade Kubernetes
environments.
